How Social Media Has Become a Marvelous Work — and the Role We Can Play
Doctrine & Covenants 4:1–3 reminds us that “a marvelous work is about to come forth,” and today, that work is unfolding across the platforms many of us scroll through every day. Social media has become one of the greatest modern tools for sharing goodness, lifting others up, and connecting hearts that may never have crossed paths otherwise.
In recent years, I’ve seen individuals bear testimony on TikTok, share spiritual thoughts on Facebook, and build Instagram accounts focused on hope, healing, and faith. Missionaries teach online, and members share scriptures and uplifting messages that reach thousands instantly. People who feel alone or uncertain often find a message at exactly the right moment. This is not an accident; it is the Spirit working through modern tools.
I want to be intentional about using social media as a force for good. Whether it’s sharing a testimony, offering encouragement, posting something uplifting, or simply being a voice of civility in a noisy world, I aim for my accounts to reflect my discipleship. I want my platforms to guide others toward Christ, the source of peace, purpose, and transformation.
In a world saturated with content, the Lord needs disciples online who are willing to “serve with all your heart, might, mind, and strength.” Social media is not just entertainment; it’s an opportunity, a calling, and a stewardship.
And the marvelous work continues.
