What I Learned From My Social Media Posts This Term (And What I’d Change Next Time)

Reflecting on the social media content I created this term, I gained more insights than I expected regarding strategy, timing, visuals, messaging, and human engagement.

Here’s what stands out:

1. Emotional posts consistently outperform informational ones.
When I tied the message to a story, feeling, or transformation, engagement doubled. People connect with others, not bullet points.

2. Short-form vertical video is king.
The videos I created for class had much better engagement than static posts. In the future, I will focus more on video content, keeping it between 7 and 15 seconds long.

3. Clear CTAs matter.
When I instructed people on what to do—Book Now, Learn More, Comment Below—the response rate increased. Consumers value clear direction.

4. Posting consistently matters more than posting perfectly.
My most significant growth occurred during the weeks I posted regularly. Next time, I will create a batching system so that content is always ready.

5. Branding must be tight.
Consistent fonts, colors, logos, tone, and style significantly enhanced brand trust. Consistency truly serves as a competitive advantage.

If I could go back, I would focus even more on video, simplify my messaging further, and commit to a consistent posting schedule earlier. But overall, I grew, learned, and improved, and that was the goal.
